yuicaについて

岐阜県・高山市。
森に磨かれた水と、寒暖差の大きな気候が育てる、良質な香り。作っているのは、家具づくりの会社「オークヴィレッジ」です。創業者の稲本正さんは、もともと原子物理学を学んでいた方でした。研究室でのある出来事をきっかけに、「人が本当の意味で健康に、美しく生きるとは」を考えるようになり、たどり着いた答えが「森」だったそうです。

1974年、高山にオークヴィレッジを設立。
ものづくりと並行して、植林・育林の活動を重ねてきました。「アロマは嗜好品ではなく、必需品」稲本さんのその言葉どおり、森の香りは、私たちの心と体のバランスを取り戻すために、本来欠かせないものなのかもしれません。

yuicaの精油は、間伐材や枝葉など、これまで活かしきれていなかった森の恵みからつくられています。使うことが、森の手入れを後押しし、森を豊かにすることにつながる。

そんな循環の中で生まれた精油です。

木のいのちを、余すことなく。

その考え方に惹かれて、ミナモデザインではyuicaの精油を扱わせていただいています。

About yuica

Takayama, Gifu Prefecture.
Water purified by the mountains, and a climate of sharp seasonal contrasts
— together, they shape the quality of this scent.

It's made by Oak Village, a furniture-making company.

Its founder, Tadashi Inamoto, originally studied atomic physics.
An experience in the lab led him to ask what it truly means for people to live healthily and beautifully —
and the answer he arrived at was the forest.

In 1974, he founded Oak Village in Takayama,
building furniture while also planting and nurturing forests.

"Aroma isn't a luxury. It's a necessity."

As Inamoto put it, the scent of the forest may be something we genuinely need,
to restore balance to our minds and bodies.

yuica's oils are made from thinned wood, branches, and leaves —
forest resources that would otherwise go unused.

Using them helps support proper forest care, and lets the forest flourish.
These oils are born from that cycle.

Nothing about the tree's life goes to waste.
It's a philosophy I feel drawn to, and why Minamo Design carries yuica's oils.
