このたび、ニューヨークで開催されるグループ展

「Memento Mori in NYC」に

参加させていただくことになりました。

ニューヨークで“メメント・モリ”を切り口にした新しいカルチャーイベントをつくる。

そんな大きな挑戦の場に、

作家のひとりとして関わらせていただけること、

本当に光栄に思っています。

今回、私にとって初めて

「生と死」というテーマに正面から向き合って、

作品を制作しています。

昇っては沈む太陽、満ちては欠けていく月。

自然の中にある大きな巡りと、

生まれ、そして還っていく命の巡り。

そのつながりを、いま、キャンバスに描いているところです。

色と遊ぶように、楽しく絵を描いていた子ども時代。

それを褒めてもらえるのが嬉しくて、

いつのまにか絵を描くことが大好きになりました。

ニューヨークで過ごした約7年間、

そして子育てを通して感じてきたこと。

そんな経験の積み重ねが、今の私につながっています。

11月1日から8日まで、ニューヨークに滞在します。

当日は会場のご案内のほか、

国産の精油もご紹介させていただく予定です。

また、運営メンバーの一員として、

会場を一緒につくっていけたらと思っています。

準備の様子は、また少しずつこちらでご報告していきます。

作品が完成したら、またこちらでお伝えしますね。

[Exhibition Announcement] Joining the Group Show "Memento Mori in NYC"

I'm happy to share that I'll be taking part

in an upcoming group exhibition in New York,

"Memento Mori in NYC."

Bringing a new cultural event inspired by memento mori to New York.

Being part of such a bold, exciting challenge

as one of the participating artists

means so much to me.

For the first time, I'm creating a work

that faces the theme of life and death head-on.

The sun that rises and sets, the moon that waxes and wanes.

The great cycles of nature,

and the cycle of life — being born, and returning.

I'm currently painting the connection between them on canvas.

As a child, I loved drawing the way you'd play with colors, just for fun.

Being praised for it made me happy,

and before I knew it, drawing became something I truly loved.

The seven years I spent in New York,

and everything I've felt while raising my children —

all of these experiences have shaped who I am today.

I'll be staying in New York from November 1 to 8.

On the exhibition days, I'll be helping guide visitors around the venue,

and I'll also be introducing some Japanese-made essential oils.

I'll also be helping out as part of the organizing team,

and I hope to help bring the venue to life.

I'll be sharing more updates on my progress here little by little,

and I'll share the finished work here once it's complete.
